Star Wars Identities

So, you may or may not have heard that there is a Star Wars Exhibit currently on a six year world tour.  During this tour it will stop at twelve different cities... two cities have been announced in North America, Montreal, and Edmonton.  Montreal is a bit too far away, but Edmonton is just around the corner.

You also may or may not know that I head up to Edmonton twice a month to teach Iaido, well, that makes it ideal to stop in at the Edmonton Science Centre at the same time.  We got our tickets, headed to E-Town, and stepped into the world of Star Wars.

This specific exhibit has many of the actual movie props and costumes, as well as a significant amount of concept art.  The idea is that as you move through the exhibit you are faced with ten different questions/challenges.  How you respond to the questions shapes who you are, so by the time you get to the end the exhibit will tell you who you are.  This works by each visitor wearing a wrist band that tracks your decisions as you move along.

To save you on the details I will just throw in a bunch of photos to show you some of the supa' awesome things that we got to see:

The Exhibit

Boba Fett

Storm Trooper

Mouse Droid

C-3PO

R2-D2

Anakin's Pod Racer

Solo in Carbonite

Imperial Ships (Front)

Imperial Ships (Back)

Chewie

Height

The Falcon

Anakin's Robes

Darth Vader

When we reached the end we had to choose whether we would join the light side or the dark side and then we were able to see our final results.  This was us:

I have to say, this was an extremely creative way to run an exhibit.  We got to see some amazing things, had fun doing it, and then filled our bags with souvenirs from the gift shop.  Amazing!

If this comes to your town, or if you are close enough to drive it... go for it!
