Currently, at 18ish hours after release the trailer has over 100,000 views, and over 1,000 comments. The ratio is somewhere round 75% thumbs up and 25% thumbs down but that will change. It is just amazing, as always with Rand's work, to see how involved and how agitated people get. There is an ongoing and rather lewd debate on youtube about the merits of Objectivism as well as about if the movie will be a flop or a success.
It is interesting to me how eager people are to dish out criticism. What I wonder, in all of this hate and this rage, is when did any of those people accomplish something so great as to spawn this entire debate. They can hate all they want, but the honest truth is that its working. They are thinking about what Ayn Rand said. They are debating. And for some, they are finding a philosophy that will give them a better life.
